Solo Ride across Alaska 2010
If there’s not a chance it will kill you, then where’s the fun?
After finishing his solo bike ride from Portland to Boston, Doug was eager to get his tires moving once again. This time he would take his cycling to the next level. As part of his ongoing efforts to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease, Doug traveled out to Alaska in July of 2010 where he rode 382 miles from Anchorage to Fairbanks.
He camped out with bears, rode through relentless wind, and most importantly, faced and managed his disease along the ride. He proved to himself and others that Parkinson’s Disease wouldn’t stop him from meeting life’s greatest challenges.
