Doug’s WILD Ride Planning Team

Doug Bahniuk is the instigator of it all. He’s the wild and crazy guy who just can’t seem to sit still. Maybe it’s the Parkinson’s Disease. Maybe it’s the internal drive he’s always had. Who knows?

DSCN0262Alissa married Doug in 2012. She is also going to be riding in “Ride the Rockies” 2014. In August of 2013 Alissa conquered the Copper Triangle. She rode with Doug in “Ride the Rockies” 2012. She spends part of her time working as a laboratory technologist at the Cleveland Clinic and the rest of her time, when she isn’t riding, chasing after her one-year-old daughter Iris.
Joy R. Bahniuk is an accomplished dressage rider and trainer who lives in Harvard, Massachusetts with her husband and daughter Mary. Both she and Doug grew up in Gates Mills, Ohio. Joy has always been amazed at her brother’s determination to battle his disease in cross-country bike rides and training. She strongly believes that he should be recognized for his accomplishments in this and also for his desire to give back to the foundations that are working for a cure. Therefore she donated her time in organizing the 2010 and 2011 fundraising dinners.
Jill Markey designed our logo.  She is Partner and Graphic Designer at Markey Creative, a boutique agency fusing the sensitivities of design with the emotional pull of advertising.  She lives with her fabulous, funny husband and writer/partner, Neil Markey along with their 4 girls in Chagrin Falls.  They have a crazy Springer Spaniel whom you frequently can see chasing the “squirrelies.”  Jill’s Dad and frequent business advisor, Dick Branum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 13 years ago.  He continues to be an inspiration for her, setting the bar high when it comes to living life with purpose, patience and compassion . . . and on all other days, he is kicking butt and taking names!
